Engineering Standards & Fabrication Capabilities

A tank the size you need, not the size that exists

Rotationally moulded tanks come in the sizes the mould makes. A fabricated tank is cut from sheet and welded, so it is built to the space you have — which is why fabrication wins whenever a tank has to fit a bund, a plant room, a trailer or a gap between two existing vessels.

It also means the internals can be specified rather than worked around: baffles where you need them, a separate lid instead of a fixed top, fittings positioned for the pipework you already have.

Materials, and why the duty decides

We build in HDPE, polypropylene, PVC and PVDF. Those four cover most industrial duties and they are not interchangeable — chemical compatibility and service temperature decide which one is right, and getting it wrong is not a cosmetic mistake. Tell us what the tank will hold, at what concentration and at what temperature, and the material recommendation comes back with the quote.

Dimensions, wall thickness and what we will not guess

Wall thickness is engineered for the tank, not chosen from a table: it follows the height, the footprint, the fluid's density and how the tank is supported. We size it as part of quoting, and we will tell you what we have assumed so your engineer can check it. If the installation is certified or the contents are hazardous, that check belongs with your engineer, not with us.

Bunds and containment

Bunds are quoted the same way. Tell us the vessel being contained and the capture volume you have to meet — that requirement comes from your site's obligations, not from us, so bring the number and we will build to it.

How we quote it

Send a drawing, a DXF, a sketch or the part itself. We quote the finished job — material, machining, finishing and freight — rather than a rate you have to assemble yourself, and we confirm the critical dimensions and tolerances against your drawing before anything is cut.

Everything happens in our Gold Coast workshop: cutting, machining, forming and welding on one floor, so a job does not move between suppliers to get finished. Completed work ships Australia-wide from the capital-city depot nearest you.

Plastic Tank Fabrication FAQ

What size tanks can you build?
Tanks are built to your dimensions rather than to a stock range, so the practical question is your space and access rather than a catalogue limit. Send the footprint, the height and how it has to get into position, and we will tell you what is sensible to fabricate as one piece and what is better built in sections.
How thick will the walls be?
That is engineered per tank, from the height, the footprint, the fluid density and how the tank is supported — not picked from a table. We size it when we quote and tell you what we assumed, so your engineer can check it against the installation.
Fabricated or rotomoulded?
Rotomoulded is usually cheaper if a stock size fits your space and duty. Fabricated wins when it does not — a specific footprint, internal baffles, a separate lid, fittings in particular positions, or a bund it has to sit inside. If a stock tank would genuinely suit you better, we will say so.
