Description

Polycarbonate Sheet is a highly durable, impact-resistant thermoplastic known for its exceptional strength and optical clarity. It’s up to 250 times stronger than glass yet significantly lighter, making it a preferred material for safety, security, and glazing applications. Polycarbonate sheets are UV-stabilized, weather-resistant, and can withstand extreme temperatures, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Their versatility extends to construction, security barriers, machine guards, roofing, and greenhouse panels. Additionally, they are easy to fabricate, cut, and thermoform, offering flexibility for a wide range of applications.

Polycarbonate is also known by the trade names; Lexan, Hyzod, and Safeguard. This plastic material is high impact resistant, up to 250 times stronger than glass, and up to 30 times stronger than acrylic. Most commonly, polycarbonate is used for vandal resistant glazing, manufacturing sight glasses and safety visors, machine guards, electrical components, and barriers. Polycarbonate sheet is available in clear, opal, and light grey tint.

Spoke to someone named Kip or kit this morning she was very rude and blunt,
We have an urgent requirement for Teflon sheet and she scoffed at me when I said we needed it urgently, and just said we are too busy to do that.
Very unprofessional
When owners holland plastic read this comment just be aware our order would have been in excess of $20k
we were happy to pay extra in overtime rates or overnight freight.
I would hate to have this person completing sales for my company especially when we have quite a large order needing sorted

Thank you for you terrible service we shall order from an interstate company from now on 👎🏻

Frequently Asked Questions

What are polycarbonate sheets used for?

Polycarbonate sheets are used for applications that need high impact resistance and clarity. Common uses include machine guards, skylights, greenhouse panels, windows, signage, boat windows, safety barriers, roofing, and industrial enclosures. They are chosen when glass is too fragile or heavy.

Are polycarbonate sheets stronger than acrylic?

Yes. Polycarbonate is significantly stronger than acrylic – up to 250× stronger than glass and around 30× stronger than acrylic. It bends without cracking, absorbs impact, and performs well in harsh environments, making it the preferred material for high-risk or outdoor applications.

Are polycarbonate sheets UV-resistant?

Our polycarbonate sheets come with a UV-protective layer that prevents yellowing, degradation, and brittleness. This makes them suitable for long-term outdoor use, even under intense sun exposure. UV-coated sheets last much longer than uncoated versions.

Can polycarbonate sheets be cut and drilled?

Yes. Polycarbonate is easy to cut, drill, route, and machine. It can be worked using standard tools like circular saws, jigsaws, and drill bits. The material doesn’t crack during fabrication, which is one of the key advantages over acrylic.

What thicknesses and colours do polycarbonate sheets come in?

Polycarbonate sheets typically range from 1mm to 12mm for general use, with thicker options available for security and structural needs. Common colours include clear, opal and tint. Clear polycarbonate offers the highest light transmission, while tint and opal provide better glare control and privacy.
