Description

Nylon Rods are high-performance engineering plastics known for their excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, and durability. Made from polyamide, nylon rods are widely used in industrial applications due to their versatility, low friction, and ability to withstand heavy loads and harsh environments.

Key Features:

High Mechanical Strength: Excellent load-bearing capacity, making it suitable for structural components.
Wear & Abrasion Resistant: Ideal for parts exposed to friction, reducing wear over time.
Low Friction Coefficient: Provides smooth, self-lubricating properties, minimising the need for external lubrication.
Chemical & Corrosion Resistance: Resistant to oils, greases, fuels, and many chemicals.
High Impact Resistance: Absorbs shock and impact without cracking or deforming.
Lightweight: Easier to handle and install compared to metal components.

Common Applications:

Industrial Machinery: Bushings, bearings, gears, rollers, and wear pads.
Automotive Industry: Pulley wheels, spacers, washers, and fuel system components.
Conveyor Systems: Rollers, chain guides, and wear strips.
Marine & Construction: Structural supports, insulators, and custom mechanical parts.

Spoke to someone named Kip or kit this morning she was very rude and blunt,
We have an urgent requirement for Teflon sheet and she scoffed at me when I said we needed it urgently, and just said we are too busy to do that.
Very unprofessional
When owners holland plastic read this comment just be aware our order would have been in excess of $20k
we were happy to pay extra in overtime rates or overnight freight.
I would hate to have this person completing sales for my company especially when we have quite a large order needing sorted

Thank you for you terrible service we shall order from an interstate company from now on 👎🏻

Frequently Asked Questions

What are nylon rods used for?

Nylon rods are used in a wide range of applications, including bushings, bearings, gears, rollers, spacers, and wear-resistant components in industrial machinery.

Can nylon rods handle high temperatures?

Yes, nylon rods can typically withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 120°C (248°F), with short-term exposure up to 160°C (320°F).

Can nylon rods be machined?

Yes, nylon rods can be easily machined, drilled, milled, and turned using standard metalworking tools.

How does nylon handle moisture?

Nylon is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the environment, which can slightly affect its mechanical properties. However, this also helps improve its impact resistance.

Is nylon chemical-resistant?

Nylon is resistant to many oils, greases, fuels, and chemicals but can be affected by strong acids or bases over time.

What’s the difference between nylon and PTFE (Teflon)?

While nylon has better mechanical strength and abrasion resistance, PTFE offers superior chemical resistance and operates better at extreme temperatures with lower friction.
